Singer James Morrison's Former Partner Died by Suicide
An inquest has concluded that James Morrison's former partner, Gill Catchpole, died by suicide. The 45-year-old was found unresponsive at the house she shared with the 39-year-old singer-songwriter in Whitminster, Gloucestershire.
The inquest heard that Catchpole had been suffering from mental health difficulties and had left a note on her door saying, "Don't come in, call the police."
Morrison, who had been in a relationship with Catchpole for eight years, found her body in the annex of their house.
The inquest also heard that Catchpole had been prescribed antidepressants and had been seeing a therapist.
The coroner ruled that Catchpole's death was suicide.
